Enantiomer separation and determination of helix inversion barrier of helical dications by capillary electrophoresis
Koval, Dušan ; Adriaenssens, Louis ; Severa, Lukáš ; Teplý, Filip ; Sázelová, Petra ; Kašička, Václav
Enantiomeric helical forms of dicationic helquats, a novel family of charged helicene-like molecules, have been separated by capillary electrophoresis (CE) using sodium-phosphate buffer, pH 2.5, as background electrolyte and sulfated beta- and gamma-cyclodextrins as chiral selectors. Additionally, CE was used to determine barrier to helix inversion of helquats.
Extraction of water-soluble proteins from Bt-transgenic and non-transgenic maize species and tryptic digests peptide profiling by capillary electrophoresis
Sázelová, Petra ; Kašička, Václav ; Ibanez, E. ; Cifuentes, A.
Water-soluble proteins extracted from Bt-transgenic and non-transgenic maize varieties were digested by trypsin and analyzed by capillary zone electrophoresis (CZE) in several acidic background electrolytes. The found qualitative and quantitative differences among CZE profiles of tryptic peptide maps can be potentially used to differentiate transgenic and non-transgenic maize species.
Application of affinity capillary electrophoresis for quantitative characterization of hexaarylbenzene-based receptor binding with alkali metal ions in methanol
Ehala, Sille ; Makrlík, E. ; Toman, Petr ; Kašička, Václav
Affinity capillary electrophoresis was found to be suitable and effective tool for the quantitative evaluation of strong as well as weak interactions between hexaarylbenzene-based receptor and several alkali metal ions in methanol. The selectivity of the above receptor expressed by binding constants towards alkali metal ions was found to increase in the order of Na+ < Li+ < K+ < Cs+ < Rb+.
Capillary electrophoresis employed for quantitative characterization of peptide interactions with small ions and cyclodextrins
Kašička, Václav ; Ehala, Sille ; Šolínová, Veronika ; Schimperková, Tereza ; Sázelová, Petra ; Koval, Dušan ; Makrlík, E.
Capillary affinity electrophoresis has been applied to investigate quantitatively two types of non-covalent peptide interactions: i) complexes of pseudopeptide valinomycin with ammonium ion and alkali metal ions, Li+, Na+, K+, Rb+ and Cs+, in methanol, and ii) complexes of enantiomers of dipeptide beta alanyl-D,L-tyrosine and its derivatives with chiral selector, 2-hydroxypropyl-beta-cyclodextrin, in water.
Separation and identification of monogalactosyldiacylglycerols and digalactosyldiacylglycerols by RP-HPLC/ESI-MS
Krásová, Marie ; Cvačka, Josef
RP-HPLC/ESI-MS methods for analyzing complex mixtures of monogalactosyldiacylglycerols (MGDGs) and digalactosyldiacylglycerols (DGDGs) was developed. The methods allow separation and detection of more than 30 molecular species of MGDGs and more than 40 molecular species of DGDGs in plant samples.
